Cetera Advisors Announces Award Winners
Denver, CO – Cetera Advisors has announced its 2012 award winners, led by Lifetime Achievement Award recipients Larry Engelkemier (Rains Purinton Babcock Wealth Management; Overland Park, Kan.) and Donna Sulzbach (Sulzbach Associates; North Canton, Ohio) who were honored for outstanding dedication to their clients and the firm over their 30-plus years of service.
Engelkemier entered the financial services business in the 1990s, beginning his career by managing the agricultural investments of his clients. In 1999, he joined Multi-Financial, now known as Cetera Advisors, and expanded his practice to become a more comprehensive financial advisor with a focus on retirement and estate planning.
“It’s flattering to receive this honor from Cetera Advisors, and I appreciate all of the wonderful clients and colleagues who helped make it possible,” said Engelkemier. “We don’t become advisors to win awards, we do it to serve others and build a successful practice. I’m proud to have been able to do that, in no small part through the support of many great people, and they all share in this honor.”
Sulzbach began her financial services career in the 1980s, serving as a manager and partner of Vestax Securities Corporation, a firm which later became part of Multi-Financial. In 1987, she moved to the sales side of the business and eventually became an OSJ supervisor, working in tandem with her daughter for the past 22 years.
“I’m honored to be recognized and happy to have worked with such tremendous people through the years,” said Sulzbach. “This is a relationships business and I’ve enjoyed working with so many great people over the past four decades, not the least of which is my daughter. Being able to build this business together with her has made it even sweeter.”
In addition to Sulzbach and Engelkemier, Cetera Advisors recognized the following honorees:
- Roger Green (Green Financial Resources, LLC; Duluth, Ga.) – Named Advisor of the Year for an unprecedented sixth time in recognition of being the firm’s top producer.
- Paul Ewing (Prosperity Advisory Group; Overland Park, Kan.) – Another repeat honoree, Ewing’s Prosperity Advisory Group, the largest independent brokerage firm in greater Kansas City, was named Branch of the Year.
- Carina Diamond (SS&G Wealth Management, LLC; Akron, Ohio) – Earned the firm’s Sapphire Award, presented to advisors who best combine production with unselfish gifting of time, coaching and perspective to peers.
“We’re very proud to honor Larry and Donna for their outstanding efforts through the years,” said Brett Harrison, president and CEO of Cetera Advisors. “They are terrific role models for their peers, which is also true of Roger, Paul and Carina. Not only are they top performers, but they are consistently outstanding, year after year. We are happy to be partners in their success.”
In addition to naming the firm’s individual award winners, Cetera Advisors also inducted 26 advisors into its Pinnacle Club of million-dollar producers, an elite status achieved by less than 3 percent of the firm’s advisors.
